DANIELA AMORE (AKA DANNY)
I have a background in massage therapy and I am passionate of all things to do with health of the body. I came to Pilates later in life due to a need to address ongoing lower back pain, which came about during my second pregnancy. For the first time ever I experienced debilitating back pain. Through remedial therapy I learned that I needed to strengthen my body and the remedial therapist had me doing a small handful of core strengthening exercises and told me to go back to strength training. At this point in time I didn’t know about Pilates, so I did what I knew, I took up weight training again. I did this 3 times per week and found that it helped. I then noticed that if I dropped to twice a week the back pain would return. Upon going back to work and raising two small children, I no longer had the time or energy to continue with my workouts three times a week and the back pain returned to its original intensity. A friend then recommended classical Pilates. I then started attending classes once a week. Six months later I noticed I had no more back pain. I then took it up twice a week and have since said goodbye to back pain!
I was God led to become an instructor. The opening came about easily, where I was practicing Pilates at the time, The Pilates Boutique. Birgitta Sundberg was my instructor and mentor who ushered me into practicing as an instructor. Thanks to Birgitta, I was given the extra support and foundation to teach well from the beginning. I am a qualified Peak Pilates instructor, having undertaken my studies through Simply Pilates, Brighton, Victoria, Australia. Over the years I have also studied with Proper Pilates in Kyneton by Wade and Trevor.
